Decide on the Diamond Type
You must be aware of the four Cs of the diamond ring you are purchasing. Here, the term "four Cs" refers to cut, color, carat and clarity of the diamond.
1. Cut: You will come across diamonds of different cuts or shape, for instance princess, marquise, round etc. Based on the quality of cuts diamonds are again classified into six types; they are: poor, fair, good, very good, excellent and ideal cut.
2. Color: Diamonds are categorized from D to I based on their color. Diamonds belonging to the category "D" are colorless and the ones that belong to the category "I" are faint yellow in color.
3. Carat: Carat is the unit used to measure a diamond's weight. This means the bigger will be the stone, the higher will be its carats.
4. Clarity: You will be able to find out how many flaws a diamond has from its clarity. Based on its clarity, diamonds are categorized into five types; they are: flawless, very slightly included, very slightly included, slightly included and included. Only the flaws present in an included diamond can be seen with the naked eye.
Price of the Ring
You should not choose the diamond type without keeping in mind your budget. Based on which category of four Cs a diamond belongs to, its price will vary. The higher will be the grades of 4 Cs, the more will be the price of the ring. We would advise you not to compromise with the clarity, cut and color of the diamond.
